About
Perched on Llandudno’s stunning Great Orme, Great Orme Golf is a historic site reborn. This location has been a beloved part of the Orme’s leisure history since the 1950s, and the accessible Pitch & Putt course has entertained generations of visitors. After sitting closed for four years, the full restoration began in August 2024.
This is a mission led by a Community Interest Company (CIC), brought to life through personal time and unwavering dedication by locals, Robin Hughes and Tanya Meerally.
Our course is a redesigned 9-hole Pitch & Putt, featuring holes ranging from 40 to 81 yards. This format is perfect for families, beginners, and experienced players looking to hone their short game.
The restoration journey was immense. The team faced monumental challenges, including harsh elements, dry seasons, and persistent wildlife interference. This intense effort deepened our commitment, leading us to reimagine and redesign the course to ensure it is resilient, unique, and engaging for every player.
Please Note: The Restoration in Progress
We want to be fully transparent: you are playing the course while the final recovery is underway. The greens are currently uneven and patchy. Various parts of the course also contain recently seeded areas where the grass is still establishing.
Playing with us now means you are experiencing the raw, developing character of the Great Orme. Your support and patience as we finalize this huge effort are deeply appreciated. Every visit helps us build a sustainable future for this iconic community attraction!
